Day 44 of 300: Everything Stopped

The last post was eighteen days ago. I promised three runs a week, daily weigh-ins, a fitness post for every training day, chronic load back over 250 by end of June. None of that happened.

I’ve got a ruptured disc in my back and a kidney stone. Most of the day I’m shifting positions, looking for one that hurts less than the last. I can barely walk. Sleep doesn’t help.

There’s no training plan this week. No treadmill, no HR caps, no mileage. The day count hasn’t moved from 44. The chronic load was already at 176 and falling when I wrote the last post. I don’t want to know what it says now.

The half marathon is still in December. Twenty-six weeks away. But right now December feels very far away and the couch feels very close.

The goals from the last post can wait. All of them. The 300 day project is on hold until I can move without wincing. Right now the only objective is to let the disc settle and wait for the stone to pass.
