Day 24 of 300 - A spot of tennis

I’ve had a dose of the flu since Wednesday. My watch charger went missing over the week, forcing an unplugged session as the watch trickled to 0%. Instead of the usual linear grind on the treadmill or bike, I jumped into a 90-minute tennis match.

Today, I am paying the price. My legs and arms are incredibly sore.

For the last 45 days, my training has been exclusively in a straight line - moving forward on a treadmill or spinning a flywheel.

Tennis involves lateral shuffling, twisting, and serving. While my heart and lungs handled the 90 minutes easily, stabilizing muscles that have been dormant since December were completely unprepared for the multi-directional thrashing.

It is a humbling reminder: building time on the treadmill is one thing; ensuring my body can handle new movements is another.

A replacement charger has been found. Tonight I return to the bike for a very gentle recovery ride.
